### Send a photo

[Text a couple photos](sms:+15052503804) to (505) 250-3804 with your neighborhood, or use the [request form](https://abqreclaimed.com/#schedule). Under a minute.

### I confirm what I can take

I review every request myself and reply about what is a fit and whether I can make your date, if you have one. Nothing is promised until I confirm.

### Set it out

On the day we agree on, leave small items on the porch or driveway — you don't need to be home for those. Heavy items, appliances and anything inside need someone there to give me access.

### I haul it free

I pick it up at no cost and give it a second life through resale and reuse.

## The honest split on copper

Copper is the one scrap metal worth real money by the pound. So here's the straight version: if you've got a clean, sorted, heavy load — say a contractor's bin of stripped pipe — take it to a yard and get paid; my [where-to-sell-scrap guide](https://abqreclaimed.com/where-to-sell-scrap-metal-albuquerque) lists the real Albuquerque yards with addresses. I'm the better call for the pile most homeowners actually have: a remodel's worth of mixed pipe and fittings, insulated wire, brass hardware, a couple of appliances, and an afternoon you'd rather not spend loading a truck. That haul is free, by request.

## Send me a photo of any of this

- Copper pipe and tubing — cut, kinked, soldered, or still in the wall you're tearing out
- Wire and cable — Romex, THHN, extension cords, old wiring, motor windings (insulated is fine)
- Brass and bronze — valves, faucets, fittings, plumbing trim. Old decorative door hardware, faucets and valves can be worth more whole — see [architectural salvage](https://abqreclaimed.com/architectural-salvage-pickup-albuquerque).
- Water heaters, radiators, boilers, swamp-cooler and HVAC coils
- Electric motors, transformers, industrial controls and [machinery](https://abqreclaimed.com/scrap-metal-removal-albuquerque)
- Aluminum window frames, gutters, siding; stainless and steel in the same pile

**Contractors, plumbers, electricians, remodelers:** the pile at the end of a job is exactly what I take. If you already sell your scrap, keep doing that — you should. If it usually goes in the dumpster or sits behind the shop, text me a photo at the end of the job and I'll haul it free. See [partners](https://abqreclaimed.com/partners) for a standing arrangement.

## What happens to it

I strip, sort, and reclaim the copper, brass, and aluminum myself, pull reusable components (motors, controls, fittings), and recycle the rest — that's why the pickup is free. You get a [Reclaim Receipt](https://abqreclaimed.com/reclaim-receipt) telling you where it went. This is free removal, not a buy service: I don't pay by the pound, and I'll say so up front every time.

More than a remodel pile — a whole garage or a house? See [garage cleanouts](https://abqreclaimed.com/garage-cleanout-albuquerque) and [estate cleanouts](https://abqreclaimed.com/estate-cleanout-albuquerque).

**Before you ask — the honest limits.** Abq Reclaimed is just me, and I run a couple of other small businesses. So free pickups are **limited and entirely at my discretion** — I can't take everything, and some weeks I can't do pickups at all. Send a photo and I'll tell you honestly whether I can fit it in; if I can't, I'll point you elsewhere. (Prefer to drop off? We can sometimes arrange that by appointment.) When I do collect, I send you a [Reclaim Receipt](https://abqreclaimed.com/reclaim-receipt) afterward telling you where your stuff went.

## Common questions

### Do you pay for copper?

No — this is free removal, not a buy service, and I say so up front. If you have a big, clean, sorted load, take it to a yard and get paid; my where-to-sell-scrap guide lists the real Albuquerque yards. I am the free option for the mixed remodel pile that is not worth your afternoon.

### Will you take copper pipe that is still in the wall?

Send a photo. If it is already cut out or in a pile, yes. I am not a demolition contractor, so I will not tear open walls, but I will haul what you or your contractor pull out.

### Do you take insulated wire, or does it need to be stripped?

Insulated is fine — Romex, THHN, cords, cable, motor windings. I do the stripping and sorting myself; that is part of how the pickup stays free.

### I am a contractor — can you pick up from a job site?

Yes, by request. Text me a photo of the pile and the address; I will tell you honestly whether I can fit it into my routes. If your scrap is worth selling, keep selling it — I am the option for the loads that would otherwise hit the dumpster.

### What about a water heater or radiator?

Yes — drained water heaters, radiators, boilers, and swamp-cooler and HVAC coils are welcome, heavy ones photo first. Just a water heater? See [old water heater disposal in Albuquerque](https://abqreclaimed.com/appliance-removal-albuquerque#water-heater).

## Got something worth a second life?

Send a couple photos and I will tell you honestly if it is a fit. Free pickup across Albuquerque, by approval.
