You have four real ways to get your things sold without selling them yourself: consignment, an estate sale company, an auction house or a reseller. Each takes a share and takes time. Here’s how to choose — and when it makes more sense to let me pick it up free.

I'm Josh, and I handle every pickup myself, from your photo to the [Reclaim Receipt](https://abqreclaimed.com/reclaim-receipt). [eBay seller since 2003 — currently an eBay Top Rated Seller, 99.8% positive feedback (1,800+ feedback score, 3,800+ items sold)](https://www.ebay.com/fdbk/feedback_profile/new-mexico-literacy-project); a trailer, and a forklift for suitable loads. ### Send a photo

[Text a couple photos](sms:+15052503804) to (505) 250-3804 with your neighborhood, or use the [request form](https://abqreclaimed.com/#schedule). Under a minute.

### I confirm what I can take

I review every request myself and reply about what is a fit and whether I can make your date, if you have one. Nothing is promised until I confirm.

### Set it out

On the day we agree on, leave small items on the porch or driveway — you don't need to be home for those. Heavy items, appliances and anything inside need someone there to give me access.

### I haul it free

I pick it up at no cost and give it a second life through resale and reuse.

## Four ways to have it sold for you

- **A consignment store** sells your piece and pays you a share when it sells. Best for good furniture, outdoor gear, instruments and in-season clothing. Ask for the split in writing, how long they hold a piece, whether the price drops over time, and what happens to what doesn’t sell. (Furniture Haven is a locally owned furniture consignment store — [details in my where-to-sell guide](https://abqreclaimed.com/where-to-sell-used-gear-albuquerque#furniture).)
- **An estate sale company** runs a sale in the house and takes a percentage. Best when a whole house holds enough value to clear the company’s minimum. Ask the [five questions before you sign](https://abqreclaimed.com/estate-sale-leftovers-pickup-albuquerque) — especially what happens to the leftovers.
- **An auction house** is for one valuable piece or a real collection: art, a rare sign, a good watch, a collection of anything. Expect a commission and a wait for the next sale date.
- **A reseller who lists it online for you** — some resellers and shops sell items online for a share of the sale. Best for small things worth real money one at a time. Ask how they price, how long it takes and what you get back if it doesn’t sell.

## Or sell it outright, today

If you’d rather have cash now than a share later, local stores buy specific things outright — instruments, sporting goods, cameras, records, mid-century furniture. My [where-to-sell guide](https://abqreclaimed.com/where-to-sell-used-gear-albuquerque) lists who buys what in Albuquerque, with addresses and phone numbers.

## When a free pickup is the better deal

- It’s a mix — some good things, a lot of in-between — and no one store wants all of it.
- You’re on a deadline: a closing date, a move, a lease ending.
- It’s what’s left after the estate sale, the consignment shop or the family has picked through.
- The share and the wait aren’t worth it to you, and you’d rather it simply go to someone who’ll use it.

That’s where I come in. I pick up the resale-worthy part free, by photo request, resell it (I’ve sold on eBay since 2003) and reclaim the metal from what’s dead. I don’t pay cash and I don’t take a share of anything — you get the space back, and a [Reclaim Receipt](https://abqreclaimed.com/reclaim-receipt) saying where the main pieces went. [Text me a photo](sms:+15052503804).

## Most people do a mix

Sell the two or three pieces that are worth real money — a consignment store or an auction house for those — let family take what they want, and let me take the rest of the good stuff in one trip. ## What I don’t do

- Consignment — I don’t sell things on your behalf or split the proceeds.
- Cash offers, books included. Books go to a local book donation drop box.
- Junk hauling — trash, mattresses and worn-out furniture go to a hauler or the City’s Large Item Pick-Up.

**Before you ask — the honest limits.** Abq Reclaimed is just me, and I run a couple of other small businesses. So free pickups are **limited and entirely at my discretion** — I can't take everything, and some weeks I can't do pickups at all. Send a photo and I'll tell you honestly whether I can fit it in; if I can't, I'll point you elsewhere. (Prefer to drop off? We can sometimes arrange that by appointment.) When I do collect, I send you a [Reclaim Receipt](https://abqreclaimed.com/reclaim-receipt) afterward telling you where your stuff went.

## Common questions

### Is there someone who will sell my stuff for me in Albuquerque?

Yes, a few kinds: consignment stores (they sell it and pay you a share when it sells), estate sale companies (they run a sale in the house for a percentage), auction houses (for one valuable piece or a collection) and resellers who list items online for a share. Ask each for their split, how long it takes and what happens to what doesn’t sell. If you’d rather skip the share and the wait, I pick up the good stuff free — text a photo to (505) 250-3804.

### Will you sell my things on eBay and give me part of the money?

No. Abq Reclaimed doesn’t do consignment and doesn’t pay cash. I pick up free, resell what I can and keep the resale value — that’s what pays for the trip. If you want a share of the sale, a consignment store or a reseller who sells on commission is the right call.

### How much do consignment stores take?

It depends on the store and the item. Ask for the split in writing, how long they’ll hold a piece, whether the price drops over time, and whether unsold pieces come back to you or get donated.

### Is an estate sale worth it?

When a whole house holds enough value to clear the company’s minimum, often yes. For a few good pieces in a mostly ordinary house, it can cost more than it brings. My [estate-sale leftovers page](https://abqreclaimed.com/estate-sale-leftovers-pickup-albuquerque) has the five questions to ask before you sign.

### What happens to what doesn’t sell?

Ask before you sign — some companies leave it, some charge to haul it, some donate it. Leftovers are exactly what I pick up free when they’re still good: tools, vintage pieces, electronics, quality clothing.

### Do you pay, and is it tax-deductible?

No and no. Abq Reclaimed is for-profit: the pickup is free, I don’t pay cash, and it isn’t tax-deductible. You get a Reclaim Receipt saying where things went, not a tax receipt.

## Rather skip the selling?

Send a couple photos and I will tell you honestly if it is a fit. Free pickup across Albuquerque, by approval.
