How-to

What to do with old towels, sheets & linens

Faded, frayed, or just replaced — your old linens have somewhere better to go than the bin.

Linens are bulky, they wear out slowly, and we hoard them in the back of the closet. When it is finally time to let them go, here is how to do it responsibly instead of tossing them.

Still in good shape? Rehome them.

Clean sheets, towels, and blankets in good condition are genuinely useful to others and to reuse channels. Bag them up and pass them on through a pickup or donation center.

Worn out? Two great options.

Repurpose a few at home

Cut the most worn towels into cleaning rags before they ever leave — they outperform paper towels and cost nothing.

The easy route for everything else
