Set it out
On the day we agree on, leave small items on the porch or driveway — you don't need to be home for those. Heavy items, appliances and anything inside need someone there to give me access.
I haul it free
I pick it up at no cost and give it a second life through resale and reuse.
The garage is where the value hides. Power tools, hand tools, auto parts, camping gear, a bike nobody rides, the old stereo on the shelf — that's the stuff I most want to see a photo of.

Why a garage cleanout is my favorite request
Closets hold the odd great find — good boots and brand-name coats — but garages are full of things — well-made, discontinued, still-wanted things that a thrift store would underprice or refuse and a junk hauler would crush. I'm a reseller: a box of mixed hand tools, a drawer of vintage hardware, a shelf of camping gear, or a dead-but-repairable table saw is exactly what my business runs on. That's why the pickup is free.

What I take from a garage or shop
- Tools — hand, power, and yard; working or fixable; whole rollaways welcome
- Hardware, fasteners, and shop supplies in bulk
- Auto and motorcycle parts, vintage accessories, manuals
- Camping & outdoor gear, bikes, sporting goods
- Electronics and vintage/collectible finds — the old stereo, the film camera, the box of records
- Scrap metal — copper, wire, radiators, machinery, copper pipe and wire from an old remodel, and old appliances
- Small working appliances and quality kitchen gear that migrated to the garage
- Vintage shop furniture — steel workbenches, machinist chests, shop stools, lockers and parts cabinets (vintage furniture)
- A hobby print shop or a drafting corner: presses, type cases and paper cutters, flat files and drafting tables — tell me where it sits and how it’d come out

What I'll honestly tell you to do with the rest
I'm not a junk hauler, and I won't pretend to be. Paint, chemicals, fuel, propane, construction debris, particle-board furniture, and plain trash aren't mine to take — but I'll point you to the City of Albuquerque's hazardous-waste center and large-item pickup so nothing gets stranded. The usual split: I take the resale-worthy half free, the City takes bulky items at the curb and paint and chemicals at the hazardous-waste center, and a paid hauler only gets what’s truly left — one afternoon instead of six.
How to request it: photograph the whole space, not just the good stuff — wide shots of shelves, benches, and piles. I read every request personally and reply honestly with what I can take. Pickup is limited and at my discretion; drop-off by text is the surest option for smaller loads.
Before you ask — the honest limits. Abq Reclaimed is just me, and I run a couple of other small businesses. So free pickups are limited and entirely at my discretion — I can't take everything, and some weeks I can't do pickups at all. Send a photo and I'll tell you honestly whether I can fit it in; if I can't, I'll point you elsewhere. (Prefer to drop off? We can sometimes arrange that by appointment.) When I do collect, I send you a Reclaim Receipt afterward telling you where your stuff went.

Who will clean out my garage for free in Albuquerque?

Nobody clears a whole garage of mixed junk for free: paint, chemicals and fuel go to the City's Household Hazardous Waste center, bulky items to the City's Large Item Pick-Up at the curb, and trash to a paid hauler — a smaller load once the good half is gone.
Do you take everything from the garage?
No — I take the resale-worthy share free: tools, hardware, auto parts, gear, electronics, scrap metal, and collectibles. Paint, chemicals, fuel, debris, and plain trash go to the City of Albuquerque's hazardous-waste center or large-item pickup, and I will tell you exactly which is which so nothing gets stranded.
Is a garage cleanout pickup really free?
Yes. I make my money reselling the good tools, gear, and parts and reclaiming the metal, so the haul rides free. No fee, no minimum — just send photos first so I can confirm it is a fit.
What if the tools are broken or the bike is rusty?
Send the photo anyway. Broken power tools are often worth more for parts than you would think, and a rusty bike still has a frame and components. I will tell you honestly what has value.
Can you handle a whole shop — a rollaway, a table saw, a compressor?
Often. Heavy and awkward is worth a photo: I have a trailer, and a forklift for suitable loads. Include a photo of the path out (stairs, gates, the driveway) and I’ll say honestly whether it’s something I can move.
Is it tax-deductible?
No. Abq Reclaimed is a for-profit reuse business, not a charity, so pickups are not tax-deductible. You get a Reclaim Receipt showing where your things went instead.
