I review every request myself and reply about what is a fit and whether I can make your date, if you have one. Nothing is promised until I confirm.
Set it out
On the day we agree on, leave small items on the porch or driveway — you don't need to be home for those. Heavy items, appliances and anything inside need someone there to give me access.
I haul it free
I pick it up at no cost and give it a second life through resale and reuse.
The truck is booked, the boxes are half packed, and there's a pile growing in the garage of things you're not paying to move. Send me photos of that pile.
Need it out of the way by a date? Movers, a closing, a lease-out, a unit that’s due — text me photos and the date. The moving-day math
Movers charge by weight and hours; out-of-state moves charge by the pound. The spare camping gear, the extra tool set, the stereo you don't use, the bike in the rafters — every one of those costs more to move than it's worth to you. That's exactly the stuff with a second life here, and exactly what I take free. Send photos two or three weeks out if you can; a week out is fine; the day before, text me and I'll tell you what's realistic. Doing the rest yourself? What I take from a move
- Tools, hardware, yard and garage equipment
- Electronics, computers, audio — working or not
- Camping gear, bikes, sporting goods, musical instruments
- Small appliances and quality kitchen gear; large appliances by request
- Collectibles, records, cameras, games — the boxes you keep meaning to sort
- Quality clothing and shoes — brand-name and designer labels, outdoor and workwear, vintage and western, good leather boots, vintage wool blankets (a photo of the labels and soles tells me)
- Vintage & quality furniture you’re not moving — mid-century, antique, New Mexican carved, solid wood, old steel desks and cabinets (photo the whole piece and any maker’s mark; tell me the stairs)
- Scrap metal and the dead stuff in the shed

How a clear-out works with me
- Send photos — wide shots of every room, garage, and closet. Don't sort first — but open the closets: good boots, coats and labels are worth a photo (quality clothing & shoes). I read every request personally.
- I reply honestly: what I can take free (the resale-worthy share), what a charity or the city will take, and what needs a paid hauler. You get a plan, not just a truck.
- Pickup by request, around my routes. I'm one person with a trailer and a forklift; I'll tell you what's realistic for your date rather than overpromise. Drop-off by text is the surest option for smaller loads.
- Afterward, a Reclaim Receipt: a note telling you where the things actually went.
Straight talk: Abq Reclaimed is one person, for-profit, and free because I resell what has a second life. I'm not a junk-removal crew and I don't pay cash — if something is genuinely valuable, sell it yourself and keep the money (my guide shows where). Pickups are by request and at my discretion — some weeks I can't do any, so text early — and they aren't tax-deductible.

Common questions
I'm moving out of Albuquerque. What do I do with the stuff I'm not taking?
Split it four ways. Sell the few valuable pieces yourself. Text photos of the resale-worthy share — tools, electronics working or not, gear, bikes, appliances — to (505) 250-3804; I pick that up free, by request. Let a charity pick up everyday furniture in good shape (vintage and quality pieces: send me a photo), and put bulky leftovers out for the City's Large Item Pick-Up (call 311). Paint, fuel and chemicals go to the City's Household Hazardous Waste center — movers won't load them.
How far ahead should I contact you before a move?
Two to three weeks is ideal, a week is fine, and even the day before is worth a text — I will just be honest about what I can fit around my routes. Photos of the pile plus your move date are all I need to answer.
Who picks up furniture before a move in Albuquerque?
Depends on the piece. Vintage, mid-century, New Mexican carved or quality solid-wood furniture — and old steel office pieces — I pick up free, by request: text a photo of the whole piece, any maker’s mark and the stairs, and I’ll say honestly whether it’s something I can move. Everyday furniture in good shape: GiveABQ (Adelante’s furniture bank — pickup for a $50 donation inside city limits) or Habitat ReStore (free pickup for qualifying large donations; no particleboard, mattresses or office cubicles) — call to confirm. The Salvation Army picks up furniture through satruck.org. Mattresses, worn sofas and particleboard: the City’s Large Item Pick-Up at the curb (residential customers, 311), or a paid hauler.
We are moving out of state. Can you take a lot at once?
Often, by request — send wide photos of everything not going; for big pieces tell me the stairs and access, and I’ll say honestly what I can move in one trip and what needs another plan.
Is a moving pickup tax-deductible?
No. Abq Reclaimed is a for-profit reuse business, not a 501(c)(3). You get a Reclaim Receipt showing where your things went, not a tax receipt.
