On the day we agree on, leave small items on the porch or driveway — you don't need to be home for those. Heavy items, appliances and anything inside need someone there to give me access.

The honest split on copper
Copper is the one scrap metal worth real money by the pound. So here's the straight version: if you've got a clean, sorted, heavy load — say a contractor's bin of stripped pipe — take it to a yard and get paid; my where-to-sell-scrap guide lists the real Albuquerque yards with addresses. I'm the better call for the pile most homeowners actually have: a remodel's worth of mixed pipe and fittings, insulated wire, brass hardware, a couple of appliances, and an afternoon you'd rather not spend loading a truck. That haul is free, by request.

- Copper pipe and tubing — cut, kinked, soldered, or still in the wall you're tearing out
- Wire and cable — Romex, THHN, extension cords, old wiring, motor windings (insulated is fine)
- Brass and bronze — valves, faucets, fittings, plumbing trim. Old decorative door hardware, faucets and valves can be worth more whole — see architectural salvage.
- Water heaters, radiators, boilers, swamp-cooler and HVAC coils
- Electric motors, transformers, industrial controls and machinery
- Aluminum window frames, gutters, siding; stainless and steel in the same pile
Contractors, plumbers, electricians, remodelers: the pile at the end of a job is exactly what I take. If you already sell your scrap, keep doing that — you should. What happens to it
I strip, sort, and reclaim the copper, brass, and aluminum myself, pull reusable components (motors, controls, fittings), and recycle the rest — that's why the pickup is free. You get a Reclaim Receipt telling you where it went. This is free removal, not a buy service: I don't pay by the pound, and I'll say so up front every time.

Before you ask — the honest limits. Abq Reclaimed is just me, and I run a couple of other small businesses. So free pickups are limited and entirely at my discretion — I can't take everything, and some weeks I can't do pickups at all. Send a photo and I'll tell you honestly whether I can fit it in; if I can't, I'll point you elsewhere. (Prefer to drop off? We can sometimes arrange that by appointment.) When I do collect, I send you a Reclaim Receipt afterward telling you where your stuff went.

Common questions
Do you pay for copper?
No — this is free removal, not a buy service, and I say so up front. If you have a big, clean, sorted load, take it to a yard and get paid; my where-to-sell-scrap guide lists the real Albuquerque yards. I am the free option for the mixed remodel pile that is not worth your afternoon.
Will you take copper pipe that is still in the wall?
Send a photo. If it is already cut out or in a pile, yes. I am not a demolition contractor, so I will not tear open walls, but I will haul what you or your contractor pull out.
Do you take insulated wire, or does it need to be stripped?
Insulated is fine — Romex, THHN, cords, cable, motor windings. I do the stripping and sorting myself; that is part of how the pickup stays free.
I am a contractor — can you pick up from a job site?
Yes, by request. Text me a photo of the pile and the address; I will tell you honestly whether I can fit it into my routes. If your scrap is worth selling, keep selling it — I am the option for the loads that would otherwise hit the dumpster.
What about a water heater or radiator?
