Sell it for me?

Want someone to sell your stuff for you? Your honest options in Albuquerque

You have four real ways to get your things sold without selling them yourself: consignment, an estate sale company, an auction house or a reseller. Each takes a share and takes time. Here’s how to choose — and when it makes more sense to let me pick it up free.

Text or call (505) 250-3804 · by request, at my discretion

1

Send a photo

Text a couple photos to (505) 250-3804 with your neighborhood, or use the request form. Under a minute.

2

I confirm what I can take

I review every request myself and reply about what is a fit and whether I can make your date, if you have one. Nothing is promised until I confirm.

3

Set it out

On the day we agree on, leave small items on the porch or driveway — you don't need to be home for those. Heavy items, appliances and anything inside need someone there to give me access.

4

I haul it free

I pick it up at no cost and give it a second life through resale and reuse.

Four ways to have it sold for you

  • A consignment store sells your piece and pays you a share when it sells. Best for good furniture, outdoor gear, instruments and in-season clothing. Ask for the split in writing, how long they hold a piece, whether the price drops over time, and what happens to what doesn’t sell. (Furniture Haven is a locally owned furniture consignment store — details in my where-to-sell guide.)
  • An estate sale company runs a sale in the house and takes a percentage. Best when a whole house holds enough value to clear the company’s minimum. Ask the five questions before you sign — especially what happens to the leftovers.
  • An auction house is for one valuable piece or a real collection: art, a rare sign, a good watch, a collection of anything. Expect a commission and a wait for the next sale date.
  • A reseller who lists it online for you — some resellers and shops sell items online for a share of the sale. Best for small things worth real money one at a time. Ask how they price, how long it takes and what you get back if it doesn’t sell.

Or sell it outright, today

If you’d rather have cash now than a share later, local stores buy specific things outright — instruments, sporting goods, cameras, records, mid-century furniture. My where-to-sell guide lists who buys what in Albuquerque, with addresses and phone numbers.

When a free pickup is the better deal

  • It’s a mix — some good things, a lot of in-between — and no one store wants all of it.
  • You’re on a deadline: a closing date, a move, a lease ending.
  • It’s what’s left after the estate sale, the consignment shop or the family has picked through.
  • The share and the wait aren’t worth it to you, and you’d rather it simply go to someone who’ll use it.

That’s where I come in. I pick up the resale-worthy part free, by photo request, resell it (I’ve sold on eBay since 2003) and reclaim the metal from what’s dead. I don’t pay cash and I don’t take a share of anything — you get the space back, and a Reclaim Receipt saying where the main pieces went. Text me a photo.

Most people do a mix

Sell the two or three pieces that are worth real money — a consignment store or an auction house for those — let family take what they want, and let me take the rest of the good stuff in one trip. How a clear-out works with me, or what I most want to hear about.

What I don’t do

  • Consignment — I don’t sell things on your behalf or split the proceeds.
  • Cash offers, books included. Books go to a local book donation drop box.
  • Junk hauling — trash, mattresses and worn-out furniture go to a hauler or the City’s Large Item Pick-Up.

Before you ask — the honest limits. Abq Reclaimed is just me, and I run a couple of other small businesses. So free pickups are limited and entirely at my discretion — I can't take everything, and some weeks I can't do pickups at all. Send a photo and I'll tell you honestly whether I can fit it in; if I can't, I'll point you elsewhere. (Prefer to drop off? We can sometimes arrange that by appointment.) When I do collect, I send you a Reclaim Receipt afterward telling you where your stuff went.

Good to know

Common questions

Is there someone who will sell my stuff for me in Albuquerque?

Yes, a few kinds: consignment stores (they sell it and pay you a share when it sells), estate sale companies (they run a sale in the house for a percentage), auction houses (for one valuable piece or a collection) and resellers who list items online for a share. Ask each for their split, how long it takes and what happens to what doesn’t sell. If you’d rather skip the share and the wait, I pick up the good stuff free — text a photo to (505) 250-3804.

Will you sell my things on eBay and give me part of the money?

No. Abq Reclaimed doesn’t do consignment and doesn’t pay cash. I pick up free, resell what I can and keep the resale value — that’s what pays for the trip. If you want a share of the sale, a consignment store or a reseller who sells on commission is the right call.

How much do consignment stores take?

It depends on the store and the item. Ask for the split in writing, how long they’ll hold a piece, whether the price drops over time, and whether unsold pieces come back to you or get donated.

Is an estate sale worth it?

When a whole house holds enough value to clear the company’s minimum, often yes. For a few good pieces in a mostly ordinary house, it can cost more than it brings. My estate-sale leftovers page has the five questions to ask before you sign.

What happens to what doesn’t sell?

Ask before you sign — some companies leave it, some charge to haul it, some donate it. Leftovers are exactly what I pick up free when they’re still good: tools, vintage pieces, electronics, quality clothing.

Do you pay, and is it tax-deductible?

No and no. Abq Reclaimed is for-profit: the pickup is free, I don’t pay cash, and it isn’t tax-deductible. You get a Reclaim Receipt saying where things went, not a tax receipt.

Rather skip the selling?

Send a couple photos and I will tell you honestly if it is a fit. Free pickup across Albuquerque, by approval.
